PS 270 PTA: Our Parent-Teacher Crew

We are a vibrant and passionate coalition, dedicated to the educational experience and well-being of every child at our school.

PS 270 is a small, scrappy, special place: profoundly inclusive and welcoming, it has served generations of students and their families since the school’s inception in 1959.

Our school serves a vibrant student population that increasingly represents the beautiful diversity of our Brooklyn neighborhood. Our community brings together families from a range of backgrounds across race, class, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, and our fundraising efforts aim to increase access to rich programming for students across identities and economic circumstances.

The PTA adopts the school motto—that we are all crew, not passengers—and works to enrich the academic and social lives of all of our students. As an organization, we’re essentially rebuilding from scratch after a pandemic disruption. We are proud to have recently filed for 501c(3) nonprofit status and are thrilled to have reached a place where we can fund community events in advance. Even the smallest or simplest things have made a huge difference at PS 270. Every donation makes a direct and significant impact on what we can do.
