We are a public school and follow the NYC Dept. of Education’s Admissions schedule. Deadlines will be posted here as they become available.

Learn how to apply to Kindergarten. In NYC, children enter Kindergarten in the Fall of the calendar year they turn 5.
The Process
In-person and virtual tours are scheduled during Admission seasons. We enjoy the opportunity to welcome you into our school!
Applications may be submitted online with MySchools, by phone, or in person at the District 13 Family Welcome Center located at 355 Park Place, Brooklyn, NY 11238.
Current 3-K and Pre-K families must submit an application as well to be considered for placement with us for Pre-K and Kindergarten, though current families will have priority in admissions.

How Children are Placed
Children are considered for placement at PS 270: The Dekalb School from within our school zone, from within District 13, and from other Districts as well (in that order of priority). View our school zone below.
